You might think you’re looking at a young married couple but these sitters were siblings. A clue to this fact is the length of the young woman’s dress which would have been floor length if she were considered an adult. Adam and Emma Fisher were the youngest of eight children born to John and Mary (Woodruff) Fisher.
Adam, born in 1877, became a farmer. He had a son, Cloyd, and daughter, Sarah, with wife Elizabeth (Bickhart.) He lived his entire life on the Penn Township family farm in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania where he was born. Adam died in 1948.

Emma contracted consumption (aka Tuberculosis) as a teenager and battled the disease for five years before it claimed her life on September 4, 1902 at the age of twenty.
Poor thing, she was sick for a quarter of her lifetime. So many lives were cut short by that dreadful disease.
